Common buzzard, kestrel and sparrow hawk

The rough-legged buzzard or hawk migrates to Denmark from northern Scandinavia, especially during harsh winters.

It is slightly larger than the common buzzard and recognisable by its lighter plumage with a distinct black band on the tail.

Like the common buzzard, its diet is mainly mice, which it catches in the open fields.
